I submitted my TRV application (this is my 3rd renewal) IN PERSON TODAY (June 24, 2010) to the Canadian Consulate General in Buffalo, New York, USA. Unfortunately, I was not aware that my application was subject to the 10-day mandatory waiting period (because my country was actually not on the online list). I was told that I would be contacted in 10 business days to bring my passport in where they would stamp the visa, and they said that with several holidays in mind, that they would contact me around July 6th.
My current TRV visa expires on June 30th, 2010.
Is it advisable to go back to Canada before my current TRV expires and make a re-entry into the US once the visa is ready?
Is there any way to tell the embassy to mail my passport to me in Canada while I make the entry with just my Study Permit alone?
If they say 10-days, do they mean 10 days before it even gets processed or 10 days total?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
