Indian Passport Renewal from BLS Toronto

For people who have recently renewed their passport through BLS.
How is police verification handled in India? My parents are PR and stay here in Canada with me. If I submit their passport renewal application here through BLS, they still ask for India address for Police Verification. But that house in India is locked with nobody staying there. So the question is how does police verification work in this case? Do they visit the house or is it only online check on their end?

the verification is physical, either they will visit at Indian address you mention on application or they will ask someone to visit the police station.

Sorry you are going through this.

I went through it back in 2022. At the time, the police did go to my parents address, and I had to arrange for an uncle to coordinate with local police. As per their direction I had to provide an affidavit that I and my parents reside abroad. It was quite difficult to manage, but got it done.

For police verification purpose, BLS will ask you to provide a relative / friend telephone number. You have to choose which police station you wish. The police goes to your friends home and ask him to provide, aadhar card, bank address proof , driving license etc for address proof of applicant. Then you know... what Indian police does. lol.

If the applicant is senior, sometines, indian consulate do not ask police verification, passport issued.

Hi, Need help with Indian Passport renewal. Below is my situation. Please help

1. I am a PR holder and my PR card and Indian Passport got expired last year - Less than 1 year
2. Renewal application is sent to CIC on paper via Canada Post. Must have reached on March 17th
3. I went to BLS for Passport renewal. Submitted my Original Passport, COPR copy, Expired PR Card Copy and PR Card Renewal Fees Receipt and they accepted the same on March 28th
4. While tracking my application, I saw a note - "Incomplete / Insufficient data - Contact BLS Centre. PR renewal email and payment receipt from CIC"

I went to BLS yesterday and they say bring the approval letter from CIC stating your PR Card extension is approved. I told them that they don't give such letter. What they do is send the PR Card which will take 105 days and I cannot wait until then. They just argue and say we cannot do anything. Get the letter from them

What should I do??? Did anyone come across such situation. What is the way out please help!!!

Hi i am facing exactly same situation . I need to travel in one month haven’t got pr card yet or any letter shows exactly same status as yours. Could you please please help me, and let me know how did you resolved it.

if you got your PR APPLICATION AOR E MAIL print out and summit this accept proof of your status in Canada other wise wait for pr card to complete application

I am facing exactly same situation can someone please help me. Thing is its been almost a month for pr card application and i haven’t got any aor or anything that shows approval and sometimes ircc doesn’t send aor or anything they send pr card directly. What if i wait for pr card my passport application will stay stuck and i need it urgently for travel.
