    Err no, you don't need PR card to get SIN, I walked into a Service Canada, showed COPR/Passport and got SIN on the spot.

    I respectfully disagree, DMV's are not what they used to be. I have been a DMV in Massachusetts and a DMV in Florida, they are much more efficient and streamlined. Yes you need to wait at least an hour or maybe less but this is huge improvement.

    Immigration officers work 24/7. You can activate your PR anytime you want, there are no special days or time. It just depends on the day and traffic.

    @ashu91 Can you please check your application on VFS website. For me it says decision envelope has been dispatched from IRCC office to Canada VAC in Sao Paulo. Why would they send passports to Sao Paulo? Email says NY VAC though.

    Why can't you travel to Canada and go back to US if you are on H1B? You can use AVR option.
