Option 1 would be better as it will be really hard for Mom-to-be to travel daily. And as other member mentioned you can try pushing your date as much as possible that way you can cherish spending with your family at this wonderful phase of your life! Goodluck!

No, you cannot. You need to have a valid work authorization in US to work remotely also. Even if you are a Canadian Citizen you cannot work in US on H4 visa. You need to either have a H4EAD or H1 or L1.

you cannot take the processing times of 2years ago into consideration if you are applying today. Now a days the processing times have become better than 2years ago.

2) Its not required to add Visitor visa status is what i was told in the other group as it was just for visiting purpose. Unless you have lived in the country it doesn't come under immigration as far i understood and clarified by seniors as well. :)
