I am confused now - Do I HAVE to apply for extension visa, I thought they can stay even on expired super visa ? And why can't we apply for visitor visa from Canada (not planing to apply for super visa again, just regular visitor visa this time)

But what will be the best thing to do here ? Apply for visitor visa from Canada before leaving or apply from home country after this current trip ?

No, I get that, from your first comment, they can stay in Canada even if their super visa is expiring in oct, visa is just to enter Canada. How long they can stay is depend on type of visa and port of entry officer.

Yes that make sense, what about before they leave Canada (on expired super visa, let say next yr) they apply for new visitor visa while staying in Canada ? I am trying to avoid the long processing time from home country.

Oh yes make sense, but do we get extension visa for end of passport expiry date or 6-12 months ? For now, they can stay till Oct on super visa (more I know without applying anything) and I can apply 30 days before that and if they get visitor visa then they can stay for 6 more months and that is...

@steaky I mean, I am not sure, if I apply for extension it will be from anything between 6 months to 1 yr, correct ? and if I apply for visitor visa it might be 10 yrs (until passport expiry date) ?

Hey Guys, I tried to search for this in the forum, but maybe I am using wrong keyword to search. So anyone please let me know what I have to do: my parents are in Canada (came 2 months ago) and in end of Oct 2024 their super visa is going to expiry on the old passport. So can they stay for 1–2...

I think they stop sending now...another yr with no hope.. they update this page with list of invitation number..which means they stop sending for 2024 https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/family-sponsorship/sponsor-parents-grandparents/selected.html

So Canada don't follow 6 month rule ? or they do with passport but if someone has visa still end of Sep they can still travel as long as they also have new valid passport with 5 or 10 yrs validity ?

Any idea how long it takes to get PR card in the mail after it says "Decision Made" ?

My wife submitted application in April (paper application), I can see people are waiting for AOR for more than 3 months, our is only 2 months now so long way to go. But anyone knows if they are working on March applications or still on Feb ?
