the 2 month or 1 month on their website means nothing, I wait almost 3 month for my work permit. even we take the hurricane sandy into counting -- let's say 1 week -- that's still 11 weeks of processing time.

so my lawyer just got my passport with visa. we have one day shipping envelope included, so I guess they mail it out yesterday. even trivial task like stamp the visa on and mail it out took them more than a week.

congrats ! they are low efficiency as usual, I drop my passport to them last Friday, and still waiting for it to come in with visa by mail. I don't have any expectation for the new york office, just hope they don't loose my passport.

they finally finish processing my case. just 2 days from 3 month. cannot believe how slow they are. canadian consulate really need a better system.

sounds like they already approve your visa, if they use usps to mail your stuff back, it will take couple of days to reach you. it's good news, mine arrive at the beginning of Oct, hope they finalize my application soon.

I can't believe new york office spend two and half month reviewing my work permit application, now they decide it should go through additional background checks. does anyone know how long does that usually take? unbelievable.

I did, but they didn't give me the visa. anyway, there is no hurt trying, get there by 8am, go straight to the office downstairs, there will be a line. they will give you a number for you to come back by 1pm the same day, they will be a line in the lobby. if you are lucky, you can have your...

this is crazy. USPS is the worst way of mailing things. maybe they can mail you a new visa, while you getting a passport. bless you.

just went down there this morning. go directly downstairs, the office there open between 8 to 10 am. they asked me to fill some urgent processing form. went there again at 1pm, wait a while, a long queue in the lobby, then wait downstairs in the same office, got my passport back, but the visa...

does this mean we all need to wait until Dec17? this sucks anyway, at least they give you some kind of auto respond, I got nothing.

Dec 7 today, still nothing. they start to process my application at Oct.10 next week will be 2 month going to visit their office next week , spend another couple hours of my time, fill in some kind of emergency request form, might speed them up

they accept my application at the beginning of Oct, today is Nov.28, still waiting. will update when I get it.

they receive my application at Oct.10, it says on the website the average processing time for NY office is 2 month, so it should come through early next month, cross my fingers =.=
