This might be a silly or unusual question.
We are Originally from South Africa, but now Canadian citizens.
We did not do the application to retain duel citizenship for Canada, and our original (which is obviously South African).
My question is, how does the South African government know we are now Canadian citizens and didnt apply for Dual citizenship with South Africa anymore as well. We were a bit late to the party on the latter issue and therefor didn't apply as we already got our Canadian citizenship documentation and passports.
Are our South African passports (has not expired), ID documentation still valid and in effect if we ever wanted to travel back to South Africa to visit?
